RESPOND of Arkansas Amateur Radio Club is a non-profit organization of Amateur Radio operators interested in community and emergency service. RESPOND, founded in 1989, provides emergency communications to local and state government and disaster response agencies upon request during natural or man-made communication emergencies. RESPOND also serves as the local Eyes of the National Weather Service through its Skywarn program of trained volunteers and radio operators. The club provides a staffed communications van for use by Craighead County when needed and works closely with the local chapter of the American Red Cross. RESPOND is an ARRL Affiliated Special Service Club. RESPOND meets each third Monday at 7 PM, at the First Baptist Church University Room, 707 Union Ave, Jonesboro.
